The sixth stage of the Dakar Rally spanned 605km and was divided into two segments. A 171km untimed road section, classified as a transfer, separated the two parts, resulting in 434km of timed competition. Following the transfer stage, the competitors faced a faster section which gradually upped the difficulty level as they navigated sandy terrain including hills, dunes and sandy tracks. The second part of today’s special was particularly technical, as the competitors tackled a demanding sector in the dunes. When it comes to the overall standings, Henk Lategan from Toyota Gazoo Racing leads the cars category of the rally, while Daniel Sanders is leading the bikes category.

2025 Dakar Rally bikes

Ricky Brabec from Monster Energy Honda finished the sixth stage in first place, followed by Adrien Van Beveren who was one minute and 14 seconds off the leader’s pace. Hero MotoSports team rider Nacho Cornejo finished the stage in third place thanks to an impressive performance, while his teammate Ross Branch had to exit the rally due to a crash 48km into the stage. When it comes to the overall standings, Daniel Sanders leads the pack in the bikes category, followed by Tosha Schareina and Adrien Van Beveren respectively.

2025 Dakar Rally cars

Guillaume de Mevius from the X-Raid Mini JCW team led the cars category by the end of the sixth stage, with Joao Ferreira coming in second place. Dakar legend Nasser Al-Attiyah completed the podium for the stage with The Dacia Sandriders team, just two minutes off the leader’s pace. When it comes to the overall standings, Henk Lategan is leading the pack in the cars category with the Toyota Gazoo Racing team, followed by Yazeed Al Rajhi from Overdrive Racing and Mattias Ekstrom from the Ford M-Sport team in second and third place respectively.

2025 Dakar Rally trucks

The trucks category of the 2025 Dakar was dominated by Mitchel Van Den Brink from the Eurol Rally Sport at the end of stage six, followed by Martin Macik from the MM Technology team. Martin Soltys from the Tatra Buggyra ZM Racing outfit completed the podium for the sixth stage, trailing almost half an hour behind the stage leader. When it comes to the overall standings, the MM Technology team with Martin Macik is leading the truck class.

Indians at the 2025 Dakar Rally

Sanjay Takale finished in 26th position overall in the Classic category. Takale is also the first Indian to take part in a four-wheeler category at Dakar. Meanwhile Jatin Jain's Dakar journey came to an end, after a crash in the dunes post sunset meant that the Indian rider lost a substantial amount of time completing the sixth stage.

Stage 7 of the rally consists of 455km of timed specials and is set to get more challenging with difficult navigation and the inclusion of some mountain racing. The timed special for tomorrow’s stage has also been shortened slightly to 411km, and competitors will take a 188km road section to reach the new starting location.
