Gaurav Gill wins fourth round of 2024 INRC at Hyderabad

Gaurav Gill clinched the top spot at the Rally of Hyderabad, round of the 2024 Indian National Rally Championship. The Arjuna awardee was driving a JK Tyre powered Ford Fiesta Rally 4. Gill, the 3 time Asia Pacific and 7 time national rally champion, along with co-driver Aniruddha Rangnekar won four of the rally’s six stages, dominating from start to finish. Their final margin time was 1 minute 20 seconds faster over their closest competitor. This was Gill and Rangnekar’s first win since the South India Rally in 2023, where they took the top honours in the Asia Pacific round of the championship.

Chetan Shivram (with co-driver Shivaprakash) finished second overall, also claiming the category win for INRC2. Fabid Ahmer (with co-driver Milen George) finished third overall on the podium, while also taking the runners up spot in the INRC2 category. Meanwhile, Jason Saldana (with co-driver Thimu) took the third podium spot in INRC2.

Arnav Pratap Singh (with co-driver Rohit) won the INRC3 and JINRC categories, putting in strong times and challenging the faster cars on a few occasions. Darius Shroff (with co-driver Arjun) took the second spot in INRC3, followed by Arjun Rajiv (with co-driver Vinay), who also finished runner up in JINRC. Anushriya Gulati (with co-driver Karan) won the women’s category, while Nikeetaa Takkale (with co-driver Arvind) and Phoebe Nongrum (with co-driver Arvind KP) completed the podium places for the category. The next round of the championship will be held in Coorg between November 22 and 24.
