You could say I’ve got another home race coming up this weekend, as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads to Monaco, the home where I spend most of my time.
We travel to Monaco with the hope of getting back into the points. I just missed out during both races in Berlin, although I was pleased for Oliver (Rowland) achieving one point for the team with his P10 finish. We both maximised the efficiency of the powertrain to save energy and then push through from the back. On Sunday in the wet, the Mahindra customer team ABT CUPRA Racing managed to secure a front row lock out ahead of the second race – well done to them for showing what the car can do in tricky conditions.
I truly love Monaco. It is a classic circuit and a great event all round. Plus, I know the streets very well! The track is very different to Berlin, and we only have one day of driving, so we will need to adapt quickly when we get there. Going forward we need to improve on our qualifying position and aim to get into the Duels so we have a better starting position for the race. From there, we can try and get those points that have alluded me for the last few rounds.
