I can’t begin to tell you how excited and proud I am for the next round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. That’s because it is being held in my home city, Sao Paulo, Brazil. I can’t wait to introduce the Mahindra team to the Brazilian culture and show them my fantastic city.

I have been working on getting a Formula E race to Brazil since the inception of the championship almost 10 years ago, so to finally be able to say I have a home race truly is a great honour for me. It will be an incredible feeling to race in front of my friends, family and everyone who has supported me throughout my career as well as the amazing Brazilian fans. I don’t think Formula E and the great work the series does is known enough in Brazil, so hopefully this race will help with that.

As a team, we are going to fight as hard as we can to get a good result and try to get back to the same level of performance that we had at the start of the season. We had a fantastic start to our Season 9 campaign with my pole position and podium in Mexico and then we had strong pace at the team’s home race in Hyderabad, I was just unfortunate not to be able to convert that into points. That’s certainly the aim for Sao Paulo though. I want to give the Brazilian crowds a great show, while also helping to push the Mahindra team back to the position we work so hard to be in.
