TVS Racing has opened registrations for the 2021 Women’s One Make Championship. Candidates can enroll themselves on the website and the selection rounds will be held in Mumbai and Bangalore on January 23 and January 30 respectively.
The prerequisites include having a valid motorcycle license, a full-face helmet with a Double-D ring that is DOT and ECE certified. Racing leather will be available to rent in limited numbers. There is also a registration fee of Rs 1,500.
The selection rounds will happen at Meco Kartopia in Hennur, Bangalore and Ajmera IndiKarting in Wadala, Mumbai. The selection session will involve a day long training school that will be conducted by TVS Racing’s national champions- Harry Sylvester, Jagan Kumar, KY Ahamed and Aishwarya Pissay, after which the riders will have to do timed laps. Sixteen entrants from each city, who post the best times and display the highest levels of physical fitness and racing prowess will be selected for the final selection round which will take place in April at the MMRT in Chennai. After the final selection, riders will receive intensive training under the supervision of TVS Racing’s national champions. The Women’s One Make Championship will consist of five rounds.
The riders, for the training and the races alike will be using the race spec version of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. The cup bike is mechanically optimised for better performance on the race track. Changes include a mild cam lift, roarty free flow exhaust, stiffer suspension setup, braided brake lines, lever guards and TVS Eurogrip race spec tyres. It also ditches the mirrors and rear mudguard for weight reduction.
