Mercedes-Benz India has driven in the AMG C 43 Coupé at Rs 75 lakh. The two door sports car is based on the C-Class and gets plenty of AMG treatment inside out. It’s the first time that the German luxury carmaker is launching the coupé version of the C 43 in India and it will be sold as a CBU.

The gorgeous Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé

From the outside the coupé shouts AMG just like any other hooligan from Affalterbach. There’s the AMG front apron and the AMG radiator grille with twin louvre that look quite striking. The rear diffuser sits between two twin round exhausts. Adding more to the sporty appeal are the blacked out 14-spoke AMG light alloys wrapped around 19inch wheels.

On the inside, the coupé gets AMG Performance seats and a Nappa leather wrapped steering wheel. The 12.3 inch fully digital instrument cluster is available as an option while the classic circular instrument panel comes as standard. The digital instrument display gets ‘classic’, ‘aggressive’ and ‘sport’ display styles which you can choose depending on your liking.

What does the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupe pack?

And now let’s talk numbers. The Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé is powered by the same powertrain that underpins its sedan sibling, although its tuned to deliver a higher output. The 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine makes 384bhp and 520Nm of torque. All of this might is transferred to all the four wheels via an AMG Speedshift 9-speed TCT (Torque-Clutch transmission). This is basically a torque converter which is engineered to suit the high performing V6 engine. Mercedes-Benz says that the torque distribution is 31 per cent on the front axle and 69 per cent on the rear axle. All of this oomph makes the C 43 Coupé spur to a ton in just 4.7 seconds.

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé is one of the entry level AMG offerings from the company. Its closest rival is the BMW M2 Competition. Although, the Beemer sells at Rs 79.9 lakh and also has about 20bhp of additional power over the Merc.
