Mahindra Adventure, the adventure and motor sports wing of the company, has announced its calendar for season 8. It has added a 10 day expedition to the base camp of Mt Everest, along with the existing events like the 11-day Monastery Escape (Delhi to Leh). The Everest base camp expedition will see participants head towards Nyalam and Tibet, thereby crossing the border into China through the Friendship Bridge.  The convoy will then drive through Tibet, to enter the forbidden city of Lhasa – which houses Potala palace and numerous other monasteries.

The Great Escape series will be going to locations like Chennai and Vishakapatinam this time and there are many off roading events that will take place in 10 locations. But the Off-Road Trophy rounds has been cut down to five zones and the winners from these locations will compete in the finale to battle it out for the trophy and one lucky winner stands a chance to win a brand new Mahindra Thar CRDe 4×4.

Mahindra Adventure has added a new event to its series called the “Desert Challenge”, a TSD rally that will take place in the deserts of Rajasthan.  Mahindra will provide the teams with 4WD Scorpios for the event.

On the launch of Season 8 calendar, Veejay Nakra, chief of sales  and marketing, automotive division, Mahindra and Mahindra, said, “After 7 successful seasons, we are gearing up to unleash a series of adventure initiatives throughout this year that promise a lot more excitement and thrill for adventure enthusiasts. To add to the adrenaline pumping line-up, Mahindra Adventure has chartered into unexplored territories with the addition of Everest Base Camp and Desert Challenge this year. I am confident that all these initiatives will further cement the tough and the rugged capabilities of our vehicles and take Mahindra Adventure to newer heights.”
