The Indian edition of the Baja 2018, one of the greatest extreme motorsport competitions in the world is back and will be held between 17 August and 19 August 2018 in the dunes of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The race will include, special stages that span 400km and more than 150km of transport stages. The stages will feature some of the toughest terrains in India.

India Baja 2018 will be organized by Northern Motorsport, in association with Isuzu motors and Rajasthan tourism. Northern Motorsport has also organized the Desert Storm rally and the National Autocross Championship.

“The stature of India Baja in country’s motorsport scenario can be gauged from the fact that the number of people signing up continues to grow each year. These are very encouraging trends and I would thank the Indian motorsport fraternity for the love & acceptance they’ve shown towards this cross country rally. We pledge to bring an even more challenging and better experience this year around.” said Mr. Jayesh Desai, Co-founder and Director of Northern Motorsport.

The top contender at the India Baja 2018 will get a direct entry in the Dakar Rally of 2020 and a complimentary entry to the Afriquia Merzouga Rally 2019. The monetary advantages to the winner of the competition amount to €20,000 which is approximately Rs 15.9 lakh. This amount can cover the registration fee for one motorcycle in both the events. Another bonus would be that, the top contenders of all the categories will be offered a direct entry into Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm Rally of 2019.
