Petrolheads will know that the SEMA Show in the USA is a paradise for enthusiasts, as it always features some of the coolest cars and bike builds. The SEMA Show was started in 1967, and here are five builds which caught our eye at the 2024 edition of the auto show.

Hot Parts USA Mazda Miata

This Mazda Miata build is a controversial one, and the reason for that is what is under the bonnet, or rather what is not. In its initial description, this Mazda Miata built by Hot Parts USA was described as a twin-turbo, Lamborghini-powered Miata. The twin-turbo part is accurate, with the turbos being placed where you would normally find the pop-up headlamps on the Miata. However, there are reports rife with speculation that under the bonnet of this Miata is a Chevy LS V8, with a Lamborghini intake as seen in the pictures.

Porsche Cayenne ‘Pink Pig’

This Porsche Cayenne rig is owned by Harrison Schoen, and while the SUV has sported a variety of avatars in the past, it now gets the Pink Pig livery from Porsche’s Le Mans race cars. The Cayenne also gets a lift kit, additional lighting, Kumho Road Venture MT71 tyres and new wheels, with a spare wheel hanging on the back. Closer inspection of this build will also reveal off-road bumpers, a bash plate and additional off-road protection for when the SUV is venturing off the tarmac.

Toyota GR86 Rally Legacy Concept

Toyota unveiled the GR86 Rally Legacy concept car at the 2024 SEMA show, and it is based on the GR86 with the Performance package. The concept also borrows bits from the GR Corolla, such as the engine, the AWD system, rear-differential, along with the spindles and axles for the front suspension. Powering the Rally Legacy concept is a 1.6-litre 3-cylinder engine that produces 296bhp of power and 370Nm of torque. The GR86 also gets rally livery paying tribute to the four-door Toyota Celica GT rally car from the WRC in the 90s.

Kia WKNDR Concept EV van

Based on Kia’s recently debuted line of EV ‘Purpose Beyond Vehicles’, the P5 WKNDR EV van gets a lift kit and is equipped with off-road tyres. The van also gets a modular interior that features a highly flexible layout which can be customised to maximise the space and the function. The van’s ‘Gear Head’ feature is the first-of-its-kind storage solution that provides an off-board, sheltered storage space for gear when the vehicle is stationary, allowing for maximum utilisation of interior space while still offering easy access to gear outside. The Gear Head can also be transformed into a mobile pantry for those who would like to cook with a view. The van features solar panels and unique hydro turbine wheels that can recharge the batteries for many uses. Kia has also installed an onboard compressor to help adjust tyre pressure or for inflating mattresses when camping, making it the perfect overlanding vehicle.https://www.evoindia.com/search?q=Land%20Cruiser

Toyota Land Cruiser ROX Concept

Toyota has reimagined the open-top Land Cruisers of the past with the ROX concept, and this fully functional factory one-off gets a custom front-to-rear sliding soft top, along with ‘skeleton’ doors. The interior features custom SLS Nylon 3D printed bits including front and rear door sills. Heritage Orange leather has been used in the interior, while the exterior body colour is Spring Green, a vintage Land Cruiser paint colour paying homage to the model’s legacy. You get custom-fabricated high-lift front and rear steel bumpers with D-rings and brush guards for front and rear protection, and filling up the widened fenders are the massive tyres, fitted to 18-inch, single-piece machined billet wheels. The ROX concept also gets customised independent suspension by TRD, with a 4-inch lift. The team has also increased the track width by 8-inches, using forged aluminium control arms at the front back, providing the ROX concept with an aggressive stance.

Of course, the SEMA Show also has several other cool builds that cater to different tastes and applications. Which one was your favourite build from the SEMA Show? You can let us know your favourite picks by heading to our Instagram handle by clicking here, and commenting on our post.
