The Mahindra Thar Roxx is a hugely desirable vehicle compared to its rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, the Skoda Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, here are a few things to keep in mind before you book this SUV.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is a much more practical SUV compared to the Thar 3-door, thanks to the addition of rear doors for the second row passengers. Mahindra has also added grab handles for both the first and second row on the Thar Roxx for ease of ingress and egress, but if you are an elderly individual or have elderly parents, no amount of grab handles or side steps is going to make getting in and out of the Thar Roxx easier.
The second row of the Mahindra Thar Roxx is a comfortable place to be in and has a decent amount of space. However, it is not the best SUV to be chauffeur driven in. The ride comfort at low speeds is a little bouncy, with the Thar Roxx being based on a body-on-frame construction. It does allow you to barrel through bad patches of road like a boss, but this might not be the best option for buyers looking out for a chauffeur driven SUV.
The hype around the Thar Roxx is definitely real, and if you are someone who just wants to fly under the radar and do not wish to be noticed, definitely do not buy the Thar Roxx as the amount of attention that it draws on our roads is insane. As we were driving, we even had a new Toyota Land Cruiser owner stop us to check out the car, and wherever we have driven it, we have gotten mobbed. Not one car has commanded as much hype as the Mahindra Thar Roxx.
We were driving the diesel automatic RWD variant of the Thar Roxx for 6 days and the fuel efficiency of the SUV is not the best. We got an overall fuel efficiency of 10.4kmpl on the diesel-auto with our press-on driving style on the highway. The petrol, I fear, will not give you more than 7kmpl of fuel efficiency on this route. If you’re in the market for an SUV that delivers good fuel efficiency, it would be best to look at other SUVs.
But apart from that, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t consider the Thar Roxx as your next purchase!
