FINAL RACE OF SEASON 9

It doesn’t seem that long ago we were preparing for the opening round of Season 9 in Mexico, where I scored a pole position and got a podium during my first race weekend with Mahindra Racing.

Seven months later and we are now preparing for the final round in London. London is such a special event and a brilliant circuit. It is a very tight track and very different to other races this year with high-speed corners. I think the London track will suit our car better as well, so the aim is to be back in the points once again. I am looking forward to the race weekend. I won in London last year so while that might not be possible this season, we will definitely be aiming to end the year on a high.

It’s no secret that this has been a difficult year, but I have worked hard with my team to get the best out of the car this season. Rome was unlucky and we deserved better than two DNFs, which was the first time I have not finished a race this season. I was involved in the big crash on Saturday, which we can all be thankful that everyone walked away from. Then I was taken out of the race on Sunday while running well and moving closer to the points. So, to finish a race weekend like that is disappointing.

But our aim for London is to go out on a high. Points is once again the target to bring back some of that magic we felt at the start of the season in Mexico.
