Realme GT NEO 3T gets a flagship Snapdragon 870 processor at an affordable price to undercut its competition

Realme aims to shake up the midrange segment with a flagship Snapdragon 870 processor at a very affordable price in the GT Neo 3T. We put it through evo India’s review cycle to see how it fares.

The Realme GT Neo 3T gets the familiar triple camera setup and, understandably for the price range, a plastic back. Realme even collaborated with fashion designer Amit Aggarwal at Lakmé Fashion Week to launch his new collection which takes inspiration from the design of the Realme GT Neo 3T. It gets a chequered flag detail on the back for the white variant, but it doesn't do enough to stand out in a crowd of largely similar-looking phones. It comes in three colour options, Dash Yellow and Drifting White and Shade Black. The frame, much like the back, is plastic.

The GT Neo 3T gets a 6.62-inch 120hz FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR+ support. It is a good display with enough brightness even while using it outdoors. The loud stereo speakers add to the multimedia experience and make it good for media consumption at this price point.

The Snapdragon 870 is almost 2 years old now but still does a better job than a mid-range chipset like the Snapdragon 780G that you'd see on most phones in this segment. We noticed no issues in handling day-to-day tasks. It performs great in single-core as well as multi-core intensive tasks. We even tested games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Genshin Impact and the phone handled them well with graphics settings turned up to high. We did not experience any heating issues with the phone thanks to the new cooling solution by Realme. This phone is equipped with a stainless steel vapour chamber that helps cool down the device significantly.

The Realme GT Neo 3T has a triple camera setup with a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.3 wide-angle lens along with a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. Selfie duties are handled by a 16MP front facing camera with f/2.5. The photos from the primary sensor are good in daylight as well as in less-than-ideal lighting. The colours are punchy with decent dynamic range and accurate exposure. The edge detection on the portrait mode does a good job even with non-human subjects, but it isn't very consistent. The wide-angle camera does capture sufficient detail but colour reproduction is not its strong suit. The primary camera can shoot 4K 60FPS while the ultrawide is limited to 1080P at 30FPS. The EIS does a decent job of stabilising footage but the addition of OIS is surely missed.

The GT Neo 3T is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. It takes just 12 minutes to go from 0-50 per cent and goes up to 100 per cent in just 35 minutes. It easily went through a day with heavy to moderate usage.

At ₹24,999 the phone is good value for money. It gets a fast processor, a tried and tested camera setup, a bright and vibrant display panel and excellent battery life.
