The Fitbit Inspire 3 is the middle of the line fitness tracker band in the company’s range. It gets most of the features that you get in the Charge 5 but with a slightly smaller footprint and a smaller price tag as well. The band uses a bright colour touch screen which is bright enough to see and interact with even in harsh sunlight.
To wake the screen up, you can either set it up such that you lift your wrist or you squeeze the watch from either side. I would’ve preferred a tap to wake function because I wear a few bracelets and it becomes a bit of a task squeezing the body to wake the screen. In terms of activity tracking, it has all the major trackers you would expect a watch of this range to have and in my time with it the sensors are mostly accurate as well. Every now and then however I did notice that the step tracker would even count steps when I was riding a motorcycle. But this was an occasional glitch, something that Fitbit should be able to address with an OTA update.
If you’ve seen me, you’d know that fitness, as much as it should be, isn’t really high on my list of priorities. I primarily use a band like this for notifications, which is why I don’t wear a full-fledged smart watch. On that front, the notification delivery on the band is rather impressive with a strong vibration motor and barely any latency between notifications. Another feature I’ve really come to appreciate is the ability to accept a call on the band. This comes in handy when you’re wearing headphones and just want to quickly answer the call.
At the price point, the Fitbit Inspire 3 comes with enough fitness features, six months of the Fitbit premium for free and makes for a good option for someone who doesn't want a smartphone on their wrist.
