Land Rover has launched the Evoque Convertible in India at Rs 69.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The Convertible shares its underpinnings with the Evoque and comes with three-doors. Currently, the Evoque Convertible is offered in the fully loaded HSE Dynamic variant only.
The drop-top SUV is powered by JLR’s Ingenium 2-litre engine. The 1998cc, inline four-cylinder, turbo petrol unit churns out 237bhp and 340Nm of torque and is mated to a 9-speed automatic ‘box.
The drop-top’s insulated roof folds down in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 48kmph. You also get an all-black cabin with configurable ambient interior lighting, perforated Windsor leather seats, and a 10-inch touch screen infotainment system with voice recognition and navigation. The Convertible gets a reinforced chassis along with reinforced door panels to maintain the chassis’ rigidity. It additionally comes equipped with a pop-up roll-bar system that deploys in case of a rollover.
In terms of dimensions, the Evoque Convertible is slightly longer than the regular Evoque at 4,370 mm but the wheelbase remains the same at 2,660 mm. The width and height are lesser compared to the five-door model at 1,900 mm and 1,609 respectively. The boot capacity is a little over 250 litres.
