Porsche has unveiled its first electric car the Taycan in the Middle East, and it will soon be headed to Indian shores as well. Porsche is looking to get a whole new customer base with the Taycan, ones that are sportscar enthusiasts, as well as environmentally conscious. This is in stark contrast to the high-performance internal combustion-engined cars that it has in its product portfolio, but the Taycan does deliver on the performance front with its the 751 horsepower in the Taycan Turbo S and the 670 horsepower for Taycan Turbo. The Taycan marks a shift in direction for the German brand towards an electrified portfolio.

Check out the video below with Manfred Bräunl, the CEO of Porsche Middle East, India and Africa, who outlines his plans for the first fully electric sports cars from Porsche and will mark a new era for the brand in India.

‘India is an interesting market with potential. Frequent changes to the tax system have had an impact on the realization of defined growth plans. However, it’s a market that I am paying close attention to and together with my team, we will be defining a strategy to explore future growth opportunities.” Said Manfred Bräunl, the CEO of Porsche Middle East, India at the launch of the Taycan

Porsche, which traditionally sells around 350-450 cars a year in India is looking to bolster up sales numbers with the addition of these new products in its portfolio.
