A successor to the e6, the new BYD eMAX 7 is priced starting from ₹26.9 lakh, going up to ₹29.9 lakh. It is available in two different variants, both of which are available with either a 6- or 7-seat configuration. As part of the upgrades, now you get two battery options with a maximum 530km NEDC range and several ADAS features. Also includes additional convenience features like a panoramic sunroof. Here’s more.

BYD eMAX 7 design and interior

The design of the eMAX 7 isn’t that different from the e6. It has a minimalistic design from front to rear with clean lines and 17-inch wheels. It gets LED lighting all around with a full-width tail lamp at the rear.

The interior has been refined further in the eMAX 7 and now gets a dual-tone interior with 6- and 7-seat configurations. Starting from the dash, it features a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment screen and a 5-inch cluster. The front seats get electronic adjustment as well as ventilation on the top-end Supreme variant whereas the base Premium variant gets manual adjustment and no ventilation. The top-end variant also benefits from ADAS features and a panoramic sunroof. For convenience, there’s keyless entry and start/stop, wireless phone charging, all windows one-touch up/down and AC vents for rear rows as well. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, TC, ESP, TPMS and more. Boot space stands at 180-litre and 580-litre with the third row folded. The eMAX 7 also allows the second row to be folded completely.

BYD eMAX 7 powertrain and performance

The Blade battery is continued from before but now also includes a smaller battery in the base Premium variant. The two options are 55.4kWh and 71.8kWh with the smaller battery offering a NEDC claimed range of 420km and the bigger one offering 530km (521km in e6). Power outputs differ too with the smaller battery making 161bhp and the larger making 201bhp. Both make 310Nm of torque.

As for the charging, BYD claims that the smaller battery supports 89kW DC charging whereas the bigger battery supports 115kW DC charging. A 7kW AC charger is part of the package when you buy the eMAX 7.
