Evolet India has just rolled out a range of electric scooters at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. The models include Polo, Pony and Derby. All are electric scooters looking to target last mile mobility solutions for consumers. Also showcased at the Expo stand were electric vehicles like the Hawk, a sports bike, the Raptor cruiser scooter and a Warrior quad bike. Evolet displayed an electric bus called Lancer to accompany all these electric offerings. They will have charging points at all their dealers. Interestingly Evolet also had Air Purifiers that were integrated with helmets. All the Evolet products have recently been given ARAI and ICAT certification and should be available to consumers soon.
Here is a detailed look at the products
Hawk
The Hawk is a fully-faired electric sports bike, it has a top speed of 120kmph and a range of 150km. It gets twin disc brakes up front and a single disc at the rear, telescopic forks and a digital cluster.
Raptor
The Raptor has a 72V battery and a charging time of three-to-four hours. It has a range of 150km on a full charge and a top speed of 100km per houro.
Polo
The Polo is an entry level scooter that will be offered in two variants: a Polo Classic and Polo EZ. The company claims its lightweight construction and ease of maneuvrability in the city will make it ideal for the urban commuter. These e-scooters have been given an ICAT certificate so customers will not require a license to ride them. The Polo Classic uses a lithium-ion battery pack that offers a range of 90-100km with a 3-4 hour charge time. On the other hand the Polo EZ uses a VRLA battery that has a higher range of 100-110km and a longer charge time of 8-9 hours. Both scooters are restricted to 25kmph. The Polo EZ is priced at Rs 49,499 and Polo Classic is at Rs 59,999 (ex showroom).
Pony
It is targeted towards school and college students and positioned as an entry level scooter. It also gets the same ICAT certification like other e-scooter. It comes with a BLDC motor producing 250 watts of power, paired with two battery options, one a lead acid battery that takes 8-9 hours to charge and lithium-ion battery that only takes 3-4 hours. The Pony EZ will start at Rs 43,499 and Pony Classic at Rs 54,999 (ex showroom).
Derby
The Derby scooter has been introduced as a low speed scooter and has a top speed of only 25kmph. It will be offered in two variants with the EZ using a lead acid battery that takes 8-9 hours to charge to full capacity and the Classic will come with a lithium-ion battery pack that only takes 3-4 hours to charge. The special feature for the Derby is that it gets IOT (internet of thing) features, a full digital speedometer cluster and an electric assisted braking system.
