Hero Motocorp’s Xtreme 160R 4V is one of the most fun bikes in its class. And now for 2024, it has got more safer and feature-rich. Priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom), it is also Rs 2000 more expensive and is available in only the top-end Pro variant. Here’s more.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V design and features

The brand hasn’t updated the design and it continues with a sporty in-your-face design as before. Changes are there in the speedometer which is a completely new unit said to be 300 per cent brighter than the previous one. At the rear, it features a lower and flatter pillion seat and unlike before it’s only available as a single seat rather than a split one. The taillight is also a completely new unit and is sleeker than the outgoing model’s. As for the colour options, Hero has added a new Kevlar Brown paint option which costs Rs 1000 more.

In terms of features, it now gets dual-channel ABS and a Panic Brake Alert feature which flashes the rear indicators rapidly in a panic braking situation. Along with this, there’s a new feature called Drag Timer which allows you to record your 0-60kmph and quarter mile times.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V powertrain and chassis

No mechanical changes have been made and it continues with a 4-valve 163.2cc engine which Hero Motocorp added last year. It makes 16.6bhp power and 14.6Nm torque. One neat feature of the Xtreme 160R is the KYB USD forks up front and we are glad it continues this year as well.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V price and rivals

The price has seen a Rs 2,000 bump from last year and now costs Rs 1.39 lakh ex-showroom. If you go for the new Kevlar Brown colour option, you would need to spend Rs 1000 more. Considering the upgrades it has got, this is a rightful price jump and makes the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V a more appealing option. As for the rivals, the Pulsar NS160 and N160 along with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V are also worthy options.
