The dates of the South Indian Rally, a round of the Indian National Racing Championship (INRC) have been confirmed to run on July 30 to August 1, 2021. The rally was originally confirmed for April but had to be postponed due to the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic.

Entry for the rally is open till July 15 as per the new programme. Entries are accepted with the fulfilment of the entry form and entry fees. Participants who have pulled back from registration can re-register by July 15. The INRC continues to be promoted by the Champions Yacht Club and this year’s South India Rally will double up as a round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship. The rally will start at the MMRT on the outskirts of Chennai and then move deeper, towards Tamil Nadu’s countryside. In April, the rally had garnered a massive response with as many as 70 entries, out of which 21 were female crews. The participants are requested to follow the Covid-19 SOP protocols due to the ongoing pandemic. The Covid-19 protocol document will be circulated shortly.

Last dates for entry is set to July 15

Six rounds of the INRC were announced in March this year with the South India Rally being the season opener followed by rounds in Bangalore, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hampi and Nagaland. But due to the obvious pandemic-related reasons, motorsport in India has taken a big hit and the calendars risk being revised one too many times. For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that we witness some great INRC action in the second half of 2021.
