Chennai’s Amith Kutti wins ISRL 3 title

The ninth and tenth race of round 5 witnessed strong performances from the championship leader to clinch the title

Round five of the Indian Sim Racing League, in association with the Mumbai Falcons and Volkswagen Motorsport, was held on Sunday with Chennai's Amith Kutti emerging victorious. The race shifted to the Silverstone circuit with the 2008 version of the track selected.

After close competition throughout the season, Amith Kutti scored a total of 377 points winning six out of the ten races over five rounds, closely followed by Thrissur’s Abdul Malik who managed to bag 345 points with one win and four podiums. Sai Prithvi, another Chennai lad, managed to score 341 points and six podium finishes over the course of the season.

Some of the top racing drivers from across the country took part in the competition, with Kutti dominating the first two rounds by winning all four races. UK-based Muhammad Ibrahim snatched pole and won Race 1 of Round 3. Round 4 was dominated by Abdul Malik who managed to earn his maiden victory in race 1 while Abdul Fattah won race 2.

Coming into the final round, three racers were in the close fight for the title. Amith Kutti had a narrow lead and managed to win the first race. Netherlands-based driver Oshan Kothadiya won the final race of the season.

After the conclusion of the event, Ameet Gadhoke, owner of Mumbai Falcons, said, “We at Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited are proud to associate with the Indian Sim Racing League. There was a lot of great racing by the competitors which shows the potential and talent available in our great nation. During these trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sim racing has offered an alternate platform for racing aspirants to continue to hone their talents.”
