Maruti Suzuki S-PRESSO - Image gallery, price, specs and features

Maruti Suzuki was brewing up the S-PRESSO for quite some time now and the mini SUV has finally been launched in India at Rs 3.69 lakh

Suvrat Kothari

The Maruti Suzuki S-PRESSO has just been launched at Rs 3.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The brand says that the car’s name has been derived out of the world famous Espresso coffee, which stands out for its strong and robust characteristics. We can only talk about car’s characteristics when we test drive it. Till then take a look at the mini SUV’s image gallery below. Also, let us know what you think about car on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

Tall stance

The S-PRESSO resembles its bigger sibling, the Vitara Brezza by quite a bit thanks to the upright front fascia. What also strikes in the first look are the twin chamber halogen headlamps and the sleek radiator grille.

Jacked up Alto?

The squarish wheel arches and 14-inch wheels of the S-PRESSO give it quite the mini SUV-like stance. The high ground clearance also adds up to this effect.

Smaller than the Kwid

At an overall length of 3565mm, it is considerably smaller than the Kwid (3679mm). The Kwid though has also has a longer wheelbase of 2422mm over 2380mm of the S-PRESSO. Also, Maruti claims to have best in class rear legroom and a best in class turning radius of 4.2 metres. However at 1564mm, it stands much taller than the Kwid (1478mm).

C-shaped tail lamps

At the rear, the S-PRESSO gets C-shaped tail lamps. The bumpers and ORVMs though are black on the Standard and LXI trims and body coloured on the VXI trims.

Interiors of the S-PRESSO

Even though the rounded centre console layout resembles the Mini Coopers, the dashboard is actually inspired from sports watches. The Smart Playcast touchsreen system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also, the steering mounted controls are a segment first.

BS6 compliant engine

The 1.0-litre K-series engine is BS6 compliant and is the same unit which does duty in the Alto K10. It makes 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. With a kerb weight of just 740kg, its less likely that the S-PRESSO will be underpowered.
