The Bentley Bentayga now gets an updated optional four-seat Comfort specification, launched alongside the five-seat and seven-seat versions of the refreshed luxury SUV. Bentley expects the four-seat configuration to be a popular choice among Bentayga buyers. In a press release, Bentley stated 20 per cent of the 20,000 Bentaygas sold since its launch in 2016 have been four-seaters.

The Bentayga’s four-seat Comfort specification includes individual reclining rear seats divided by a central console. The legroom has increased by changing the divider separating the cabin from the cargo area. The maximum recline of the seats has also been increased from 32 degrees to 40 degrees, and the fore and aft travel is increased by 1.4 inches which adds up to a claimed total of 3.9 inches of increased kneeroom in the reclined position. The seats now have a more carved shape for increased comfort with heating and ventilation, massage (with six programs), and winged comfort headrests.

The central console now includes a storage bin and two USB charging docks but can be optioned with a cooler that can hold a 750ml bottle and two champagne flutes as well. Customers who wish for the controls in their hand can also avail of a 5.0-inch tablet, earlier seen on the Flying Spur, as a controller for various seat functions, including heating, massage, ambient mood lighting and window operation, along with the sunroof blinds.

The Bentayga is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which makes 542bhp and 770Nm, for a 0-100kmph sprint of just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 290kmph.

Also on the cards is a 3-litre Bentayga hybrid model which will join the portfolio soon, whereas the range-topping Bentayga Speed will be powered by a mighty W12 6.0-litre TSI engine (also mated to an eight-speed auto ’box) delivering an astonishing 626bhp which is 27bhp more than the regular W12 model, and a mighty 900Nm of torque.
