Ved Prakash from Silchar, Assam, has covered a total distance of 13700km riding solo across India to disseminate awareness against child trafficking, child safety and other forms of exploitation against children. Of this 13700km long ride, Ved has been recognised by the India Book of Records for being the quickest to cover a section of 7085km in only 15 days. And now, the Asia Book of Records has also conferred him with the title of ‘Grand Master’ in its next edition. His unrivalled ride for this cause has also been nominated for a world record.

His companion for the journey was the Bajaj Pulsar 220 which served well to its tagline "The fastest Indian"

While riding for the cause, he covered 13700km and had sojourned in 200 cities and towns across the country including New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kanyakumari, Vijaywada, and Siliguri. He said that people prefer going abroad for such trips but he believes exploring his own country is a much better experience. Ved has also documented his entire journey on his YouTube channel called ‘Bikerved’ and he uses his earnings from this channel to help the children in need of school education, food, and other basic expenses.

As Ved recalls his long ride, he talks about how he got introduced to different places, cultures and languages while travelling across India. But, this is not the whole story. He has faced many hurdles through this journey but his obligations for this cause against child trafficking kept him going. The first of the many hurdles that hit him was right at the beginning of the journey. There was a lockdown imposed due to the surge of Covid-19, halting the ride for eight long months. He resumed the ride in the month of September 2020, and for the next 15 days which he mostly spent on the road, he was troubled by weather, language barriers, and the motorcycle itself. But he says he is thankful for the people he met and became friends with, people who supported the cause and even the Police from different states who escorted him when he was in trouble. So, with sheer determination for this noble cause, enthusiasm for motorcycling and a little bit of help from new friends he completed his journey.

Despite many hurdles he completed his journey

Ved is now planning to make ripples in international waters as well. He now plans on taking his cause to a total of 21 countries, continuing to spread awareness and raise money for kids in need!
