Ford has launched the 2019 edition of the premium SUV, the Endeavour at a starting price of Rs 28.19 Lakh. The new Ford Endeavour is now available in three-trims – 2.2-litre Titanium Manual, 2.2-litre Titanium+ Automatic and 3.2-litre Titanium+ Automatic. The update premium SUV will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Mahindra Alturas G4.
The new design front bumper enhances its rugged looks with a chrome-plated bold trapezoidal grille. Both front and rear bumpers have integrated skid plates to protect the car’s under-body in extreme off-road conditions. The SUV now gets redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels and the ORVMs feature puddle lamps. The 2019 Ford Endeavour is the only premium SUV to feature a panoramic sun-roof that covers almost 50 per cent of the roof space. The interior design in the new Ford Endeavour continues to offer a first-in-class flexible seating and cargo arrangements – including fold-flat second- and power-fold third-row seats, which instantly flattens at the touch of a button and can hold up to 2,010 litres of cargo with rear seats folded.
The new Ford Endeavour is available with two diesel engine options; a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel motor. The 2.2-litre diesel motor puts out 157bhp and 385Nm of torque. The engine is paired to either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The 3.2-litre diesel engine generates 197bhp and 470Nm of torque. With the introduction of a manual transmission, the 2.2-litre engine is capable of delivering close to 14.2 kmpl fuel economy claims Ford.
The new Ford Endeavour will be the only SUV in its segment to offer hands-free powered tail-gate, enabling owners to open the premium SUVs boot by triggering a sensor in the rear at a simple motion of their foot . The SUV features Ford’s renowned in-car connectivity technology SYNC 3, allowing drivers to use simple voice commands to control the entertainment system. SYNC 3 is paired to an 8-inch touchscreen that has been rated as one of the best in India across vehicle categories. The system is also Apple CarPlay and Google Auto compatible. Next, it also offers semi-automatic parallel park assist that can locate the right sized parking spot and steer the SUV effortlessly at the touch of a button.
The 2019 Ford Endeavour features a clever four-wheel-drive system. Also, it has an active transfer case with torque on demand, first-in-segment terrain management system, and the water-wading capacity of 800 mm. The Advanced Terrain management system (TMS) lets drivers choose from four preset modes – Normal, Snow/Mud/Grass, Sand and Rock. These alter the vehicle’s throttle response, transmission, four-wheel drive system and traction control according to terrain. Finally, the SUV also features hill launch assist and hill descent control, making steep uphill or downhill climbs easier.
The 2019 Ford Endeavour is available in five colours. This includes the brand new diffused silver as well as sunset red, diamond white, absolute black and moondust silver.
