Lamborghini, the Italian brand renowned for its striking supercars has unveiled the Aventador S Roadster at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Sharing almost everything with the coupe model, the roadster maintains the distinctive Lamborghini design and combines the technologies and driving dynamics of the Aventador S with an open air driving experience.

It is powered by the same naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 motor as seen on the coupe model, which produces 730bhp of power and 690Nm of torque, and is mated to a 7-speed automated manual transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100Kmph in just 3 seconds, while the top speed is 350Kmph. The roadster is slower to 100Kmph than the coupe by 0.1 seconds, thanks to the 50Kg of extra weight that the car gained in the roadster conversion process.

“The new Aventador S Roadster sets new benchmarks in technology and performance on both road and track, with the roadster version adding a new dimension in driving enjoyment,” says Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali. “The Aventador S Roadster offers the thrill of open air driving without compromising on driving dynamics or the occupants’ comfort, and adds a further luxurious dimension through the personalization options available,” he added.

Lamborghini has also announced that they will reveal their highly anticipated SUV model on December 4, 2017 at their factory in Sant’ Agata, Italy. Lamborghini calls it the SuperSUV, it will be the spiritual successor of their highly adored LM002 SUV.  And according to Lamborghini it will be something that until today was impossible.
