Three women drive Tata Hexa from Coimbatore to London

Meenakshi Aravind, Mookambika Rathinam and Priya Rajpal commemorated the 70th anniversary of Indian Independence in style by embarking on a road trip from Coimbatore to London in the Tata Hexa. The journey would take them 72 days, covering 26,000km and driving across 24 countries. This attempt was to raise funds for the Rotary India Literacy Mission as well.

To embark the epic expedition, Meenakshi, Mookambika and Priya chose the Tata Hexa that is powered by a 2.2-liter VARICOR 400 diesel engine. Using the various drive modes like Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road, the three gutsy women crossed the border to crawl through uninhabited zones, rough roads, rocky terrains, forests, streams, and dunes, with an average driving distance of 400 kms per day. Apart from standard features like the electronically controlled All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system  and the Hexa’s torque on demand feature, the SUV was also equipped with accessories like a roof platform, a canopy, luggage bags, high lift jack, shovel, jerry can, a navigation unit and a wireless charger.

Our editor Sirish got his hands on the Tata Hexa a couple of months ago and you can read our review here.
