The Volvo XC60 has secured the distinction of being the ‘best-performing large off-roader and the car with the best overall performance of 2017’ for safety standards at the Euro NCAP 2017.The XC60 scored 98 per cent in adult occupancy safety and 95 per cent in safety assist that helped it to clinch the coveted title. The XC60 also cleared the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) tests, in all three categories like AEB City, AEB inter-urban and AEB pedestrian with flying colours. This makes Volvo the first carmaker to hold the top three rankings of the AEB tests.

Speaking on the achievement of the XC60, the vice president of Volvo Cars Safety Centre, Malin Ekholm said, “The new XC60 is one of the safest Volvo cars ever made. It is fully loaded with new technology designed to assist drivers, to help protect vehicle occupants and other road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, plus mitigate collision risks. We are proud that our ongoing commitment to innovating new safety features has been recognised with another Euro NCAP Best in Class award for Volvo Cars.”
