Toyota has revealed the pictures of a mid-size sedan that it will bring to our shores sometime later this year. The Yaris (or Vios) will be Toyota’s offering in the C-Segment and the carmaker might showcase the sedan at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018 in Delhi. The car is already sold in Thailand as Yaris ATIV.
The front facia of the sedan looks very much like the Corolla Altis currently sold in the country, and is a very grown up design overall compared to the Etios sedan. As seen from the pictures, the car gets projector headlamps and LED DRLs, mirrors look very similar to the Etios though. Going by the images, the overall car feels like a smaller version of the Corolla Altis, and does not look as well designed as the other cars in its segment, though the comments are reserved till we get to see the car in flesh.
The interior of the cabin flow looks clean with minimalistic buttons and a touch screen infotainment system nestled at the top of the dashboard. The car comes with an all-black dash with lots of brushed chrome inserts on the steering wheel, around the A/C vents outlining the top of the glove-box compartment. The interior picture also gives away the fact that the car also carries an automatic transmission gearbox.
Toyota has not revealed any details regarding the mechanicals and other figures of its India bound sedan. There is also no confirm word on the launch. Whether it will come with the moniker of Yaris or Vios is also not officially known. The car will compete against well-established cars like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
