The electric T6X bike takes one hour to charge up to 80 per cent and up to 2 hours to charge fully, and has a range of 100km on a full charge. The T6X will be available for Rs 1,24,999, and is open for pre-booking as well.
The T6X is powered with lithium-ion batteries that deliver a maximum torque of 27Nm through a single speed transmission. The TORK company hasn’t made a bike out of the blue though. They have plenty of motorsport history to brag of. Kapil Shelke, Founder & Director, Tork Motors Pvt Ltd and had built a bike with a bunch of college graduates, which they raced in one of the toughest endurance races in the world – the Isle Of Man TT. That bike did staggeringly well, winning the 2009, 2010 and 2012 trophy. Based on this experience, Shelke and his team started developing bikes and racing them, to win the premier electric motorsport race series, the TTXGP. Later, in the year 2013 and 2014, they started working on non-racing commuter prototypes thereafter, creating their first electric bike. The past motorcycles include the T1X, T2X, T3X, T4X and T5X. And that is how the T6X took shape.
Shelke was present at the launch, and said,” T6X drive train has been designed to perfection that will feature 27NM of torque, weighs less than 130 kgs coupled with tailor made components to appeal to the urban design sensibilities while delivering the sheer thrill of driving. . The motorcycle can be tuned anywhere from sporty maverick to comfortable eco-cruiser at the touch of a button. TIROS also updates and incorporates new features automatically via the cloud, making the Tork T6X truly the smartest motorcycle on the road.”
The T6X will come with different riding modes incorporated in it to deliver power accordingly, right from sport to eco-cruising mode. Users will be able to customize the ride from one mode to another with a touch of the button. The bike will be available in three colour choices, though the colours have not been revealed yet. The first phase of T6X will be sold in the cities of Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi and you can pre-book your bike at torkmotorcycles.com
