Suzuki has unveiled the new Ignis at Tokyo Motor Show 2015 in Japan. Ignis is a small car and shares the lightweight compact car platform with the new Suzuki Baleno that has been recently launched in India. On the design front, the Suzuki Ignis has gladly retained most of the styling cues from the iM-4 concept, which actually looks good.

The front end of the car is dominated by the LED headlamps which have been neatly integrated into  the chrome grille while the bumper is a simple unit with chrome ringed fog lamps. The triangular rear quarter glass panel is something new and different from other cars in its market which will make it standout in the crowd . Tail lamps get a rounded treatment.  The interiors of Suzuki Ignis are very clean and decent, and with a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system and bright instrument console with MID. The overall design is simple and sophisticated with clear lines flowing both inside and outside the car. It also gets 15 inch wheels as standard.

At the heart of this Suzuki is a 1.2-litre displacement dual-jet petrol engine paired with SHVS technology, currently seen on the diesel Ciaz and Ertiga. This will be the first petrol Maruti to get the SHVS tech.  Ignis measures  3,679mm x 1,478mm x 1,579mm (lxwxh), which makes it marginally bigger than the Renault Kwid. Ignis is expected to hit the Indian Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi.
