Kawasaki India has finally responded to the plight of the customers who were conned by SNK Kawasaki Palm Beach in Navi Mumbai. The Japanese motorcycle maker understood that the customers had been cheated out of their money and in a move rare among OEMs, decided to provide the affected customers with the bikes they had booked. This, despite the fact India Kawasaki India was not directly involved in the incident.

“At first we didn’t realise how bad the situation really was. We thought it would a customer or two but later we realised that there were many more,” said Tarun Khanna, Manager, Kawasaki India. He explained that even though the company had access to legal recourse, it chose to resolve the issue in a manner that wouldn’t aggravate its relation with consumers any further.

The company has been on the lookout for a new dealer in Mumbai and Khanna said that the announcement of a new dealership may be sooner than expected. Meanwhile, he stated that the incident does not hinder Kawasaki’s aggressive growth plans for India and all future launches will go ahead as planned.
