Skoda Superb launched at Rs 23.91 lakh

The Czech car maker Skoda Auto India have launched the third generation Superb, at price range between 23.91 lakh and 29.36 lakh (ex showroom Pune).

Under the hood, the new Superb gets two engine options, a 1.8-litre, turbo-petrol engine making 177bhp and 320Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel engine, making 174bhp and 350Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol engine is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic seven-speed DSG, while the diesel engine gets an automatic six-speed DSG.

The 2016 Superb is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform that also underpins the VW Passat and the Audi A3, making it more spacious than its predecessor. The new Superb looks sharper and more aggressive. Up front, the Superb sports the trademark butterfly grille and a newly designed headlamp cluster with DRLs. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned for a sharper look.

On the inside the Superb gets an array of features which include an infotainment system, climate control, leather upholstery with electronic adjustable seats, panoramic sun-roof and various chrome inserts on the door sill trims, AC vents, door handles and steering wheel.
