Royal Enfield has launched the Thunderbird 350X and the Thunderbird 500X at Rs.1.57 lakh and Rs. 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The two models feature a number of cosmetic updates over the regular Thunderbirds and are available with new colour options.

The Thunderbird 350X and 500X share the engine and gearbox as well as the mechanicals with the standard Thunderbirds. The 350X will be powered by the same 346cc single-cylinder engine that powers the Thunderbird 350 and makes 19.6bhp and 28Nm of torque, while the 500X will be powered by the 499cc engine from the Thunderbird 500 that produces 27bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a five-speed gearbox as on the regular Thunderbirds. However there are a few changes that set them apart. The biggest of those changes are the new single-piece seat and the new shorter handlebars. The bikes also feature 9-spoke black alloy wheels with tubeless tyres on them. The headlight cluster is blacked out and features LED DRLs. The digital-analogue instrument cluster is also blacked out, while the dials have a chrome garnish around them. The grab rail is integrated into the pillion seat and joins the tail lamp unit. The exhaust and the front forks are now finished in matte black and so are the ends of the rear shock absorbers.

The new Thunderbird X models will be available in four paint options – Getaway Orange, Drifter Blue on the 500X , Whimsical White and Roving Red on the 350X.
