Renault has launched a special edition of the Kwid called the Kwid Climber. The Climber is only available on the 1-litre engine Kwid and costs Rs 4.3 lakh for the manual and Rs 4.6 lakh for the AMT variants. The Climber gets no mechanical changes, however it has a number of styling updates on the outside as well as inside.
Headlining the 17 changes to the car is the new paintjob. The ‘Electric Blue’ paint is new, as are the numerous orange highlights all over. The car gets orange ORVMs, bumper overriders, a front and rear underbelly crash guard, roof rails, new door protection cladding, new wheels and ‘Climber’ insignias on the front doors and the rear windshield. On the inside, you get a new steering wheel with more Climber badges, orange highlights on the dash, the door panels and seat upholstery, and a two tone orange gear know (only in the manual though).
The Climber was displayed as a concept at Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi, and has been designed by Renault’s teams in Mumbai and Chennai. Renault are positioning the Kwid Climber to the urban youngster who want to turn heads.
