Renault Kwid AMT launched at Rs 4.25 lakh

Renault India launched the AMT variant of their their popular hatchback, the Kwid, priced at Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Kwid AMT is expensive by just Rs 30,000 than the manual Kwid.

Powered by their newly developed 1-litre DOHC engine which makes 67bhp of power and 91Nm of torque, it has been mated to a 5-speed AMT ‘box. Renault has teamed up with Bosch to develop the Easy-R Gear Box. It has a rotary knob that is placed on the dashboard

The exteriors of the car haven’t received any changes on the looks front when compared to the 1-litre variant but it gets an additional Easy-R badge on the boot. The interiors of the AMT will carry the same specifications from the RXT manual variant, which gets a touch screen infotainment system along with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.

The Kwid AMT is available in the RXT (O) top-spec trim only and will face competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto VXi AMT, Celerio ZXi AMT, Wagon R VXi AMT and the Tata GENx Nano. The Kwid is cheaper by the Celerio and Wagon R by Rs 86,000 and Rs 58,000 respectively whereas the Alto and Nano are cheaper then the Kwid by Rs 2000 and Rs 1.09 lakh respectively.
