Redi-Go bookings to begin from May 1

Datsun have announced that it will start accepting pre-launch bookings for the newly unveiled redi-Go hatchback from the 1st of May. Bookings for the car can be made for a fully refundable down payment of Rs. 5000.

While the prices for this budget-hatch will only be announced at the time of launch in June, expect the car to be priced between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh. Not only can cars can be booked at any of the 217 Nissan dealerships across the country, but interested customers can also book a car online at snapdeal.com.

Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “Created specifically for India and manufactured here, we are confident the Datsun redi-GO will delight our customers. It’s this country’s first urban-cross vehicle, and a testament to our commitment to bring our best to India.”

The redi-Go was unveiled to the public earlier this month. Like the Renault Kwid, it is built on the CMF-A platform. It is also powered by the same 800cc 3-cylinder engine which sends drive through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Though Datsun haven’t announced any performance figures for the redi-Go yet, this same powertrain makes 53.3bhp of power and 72Nm of torque in the Kwid. The redi-Go also comes with 185mm of ground clearance, front power windows, LED DRLs and a beige interior. And just like the Kwid, this car comes with a driver airbag.
