The first ever Porsche GT3 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 2.31 crore. The hardcore version of the 911 will be sold with the option of both, 6-speed manual and 6-speed PDK gearbox options.

The two seater promises to be great car on the road as well on the track with a rear wheel steering, redesigned chassis with carbon fibre elements and all the gadgetary from Porsche’s Cup car. Powered by a flat-six, 4-litre, naturally aspirated engine, the GT3 makes 493bhp and 460Nm of torque. The PDK variant is capable of hitting 100kmph in just 3.4 seconds while the manual variant does it in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is rated at 320kmph for the manual and 318kmph for the PDK variant. The GT3 also sports a dual mass flywheel with a shorter gear lever and shorter gear paths for precise shifts.

Aerodynamic elements includes a carbon fibre rear lid, rear wing and front wing. The GT3’s wet weight is just 1430kg (1415kg for the manual) giving it a weight to power ratio of 2.86kg/bhp (2.83kg/bhp for manual). The new car also sits lower by 25mm than the Carrera S. The rear wing is higher by 20mm than its predecessor for an even better downforce. It also gets the same steering wheel as the 918 Spyder and the rear wheel steering works in exactly the same manner as on the hypercar’s. To make it even more hardcore, customers can opt for sports seats with 6-point harnesses and roll cage. To make it practical, you can also have it with a pneumatic lift system that adds 30mm to the front of the car to prevent it from scraping in our conditions.

The 911 GT3 is now available on sale across Porsche Centres in India.
