Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo launched in India

The Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo is here and is priced at Rs 1.97 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). Based on the new Panamera, the shooting brake was showcased recently at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

We think that Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo is the best looking Panamera till date and from the B-pillar onwards, all different including the long roof spoiler. That said, Porsche has also taken care of downforce over the rear axle for better driving stability by extending the rear part of the roof mounted spoiler at 169kmph or 90kmph in Sport or Sport Plus modes. The adaptive roof spoiler can be set in three different stages. The spoiler extends further to help reduce wind noise when the panoramic sunroof is open.

At 5049mm long and 1937mm wide, this is a big car. Massive 21-inch alloys add to the stance, but what stands out is the roofline, and estate-style tailgate, that makes it instantly likeable, and differentiates the Sport Turismo from the regular Panamera sport sedan.

The Sport Turismo is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers a maximum torque of 770 Nm and a maximum power of 542bhp, via a 8-speed PDK gearbox to all four wheels. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds all the way to its top speed of 304kmph.

The hydraulically-operated tailgate lifts to put a 520-litre boot to use. However, once the rear seats are folded, the boot capacity rises to 1390 litres. The Sport Turismo, unlike its sport sedan sibling is a proper five seater, instead of a 2+2 layout.
