Ducati India has launched the Enduro variant of their adventure bike, the Multistrada 1200 in India. Priced at Rs 17.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the tourer will be available in Ducati’s showrooms in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Delhi.

The Enduro variant gets 19-inch spoked wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels on the rear, with a travel of 200mm. Sachs suspension does duty on the rear while the front gets an semi-active setup, to accommodate maximum off-road capabilities. The electronic suspension detects jumps and automatically adjusts the suspension, allowing for easier landing. Staying true to its touring nature, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro gets a 30-litre tank, allowing for a range of over 450km.

Powered by the same 1198cc engine as on the Diavel, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro makes 160bhp of power and 136Nm of torque. Built on Ducati’s patented desmodronic platform, the engine is already euro-4 compliant.

On the features front, the Multistrada gets a full-TFT display that incorporates information such as the riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro, to choose from), Bluetooth setup, riding modes control, speedometer, odometer, trip meter and tachometer. The Bluetooth interface allows users to pair their devices and listen to music, answer calls, read incoming messages, record the ride data on-the-move. Like all Ducatis, the Multistrada Enduro is packed with safety features. It gets cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control in addition to the semi-active suspension. Also, cruise control, hands free ignition, cornering lights and hill assist is available as standard.

Speaking at the event, Ravi Avalur commented, “In 2016, with the Multistrada 1200 & 1200 S we are already the leaders in the large sports touring motorcycle category. We felt this was the right time for us to introduce the Multistrada 1200 Enduro for adventure motorcycling enthusiasts. The motorcycle is a perfect combination of Enduro riding style, limitless comfort and is equipped with cutting edge Ducati technology. The bike is perfect for our riding conditions and we’re sure that it will be as successful.”

The Multistrada Enduro is an intimidating bike to look at, but once astride, it is extremely nimble and easy to manoeuvre around the urban streets and is equally potent when taken on the highways. The added features make it even better go off-road riding. The Enduro is available right now at all Ducati dealerships across India.
