Bibendum (Michelin Man) has finally made his debut in India. Michelin has announced its media campaign with the launch of its first ever TVC for India along with digital promotions.
The 125 year old tyre manufacturer will be focusing more on two-wheelers, India being a huge market. Area of focus for the Indian market will be factors such as safety, better braking ability and improved grip on wet roads. Available through 3,000 outlets in 100 cities across the country, Michelin also enjoys a partnership with Harley-Davidson and TVS-BMW.
Michelin’s two-wheeler tyre range includes seven categories, as follows:
Pilot Road 2 is suitable for 600cc+ motorcycles and incorporates dual compounds for better grip and long life.
Pilot 4 comes in three variants, Standard, GT and Trail and is again, available only for 600cc+ bikes. It is claimed to improve the grip in wet conditions, suitable for GT bikes, which have to go through various terrains.
Pilot Power 3 is a soft-compound tyre, made of silica-reinforced rubber and is mostly suited to roadsters and sport bikes.
Pilot Street Radial is available for 250cc+ motorcycles and has a sporty tread pattern with wide grooves for better grip on wet roads.
Pilot Sporty is available for bikes up to 250cc and is ideal for both urban and off-road routes. It is semi-soft in nature and has a long shelf life.
Sirac Street is a tyre for 150cc+ bikes and can be used under all conditions, be it rural or urban terrain that we often go through in our country.
City Pro is available for bikes and scooters, up to 125cc and can be used in everyday urban conditions. Available in rim sizes between 14 and 18 inch it has a max speed rated at 180kmph, depending on its rating.
