Michelin has announced two new co-branded Harley-Davidson range of Michelin Scorcher tyres – Scorcher 11 and Scorcher 31, which will be available in the Indian market through the Michelin and Harley-Davidson dealerships.
The Scorcher 31 has been the standard fitment for Harley’s Sportster and Dyna models as well as an accessory fitment for the touring range, worldwide. The tyre has been designed with three key attributes kept in mind – grip, wear resistance and manoeuvrability. The tread design helps in better road holding capabilities and dispensing more water off the road.
On the other hand, the Scorcher 11 is a new radial tyre intended for the Sportster Superlow, XR 1200, V-Rod Muscle and Night Rod Special as well as the Street series. The contact patch has been maximised by the use of a semi-slick tread pattern. The compound features Michelin SRT (Silica Rain Technology) to deliver optimum grip during damp conditions.
Commenting on the occasion, Pradeep G Thampy, Commercial Director- Two Wheels for Michelin Africa-India-Middle East said “We are very pleased to bring the Michelin Scorchers, specially designed and engineered for passionate Harley-Davidson riders in India. We always strive to bring best tyre technology products for the Indian consumer and are happy to make Michelin Scorchers available to a wide network of Michelin dealerships across India in the replacement market. With the inclusion of these tyres, today, our motor cycle tyre portfolio covers the widest possible range of leisure motorcycles in India.”
