Mercedes-Benz India has launched a special edition of the GLC Class – the GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ to commemorate 70 years of Indian independence. The GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ will be available in showrooms starting today. It will be available in two variants, the GLC 220d ‘Celebration Edition’ priced at Rs 50.86 lakhs and the GLC 300 ‘Celebration Edition’ priced at Rs 51.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, all-India).

The GLC can now be had in a new exterior paint option – ‘Designo Hyacinth Red’. Other changes include an LED logo protector that will project the three pointed star on the ground on entry and exit, a black high gloss exterior mirror housing, sports pedals, a new navigation system from Garmin called the Garmin Map Pilot, and chrome strips along the front and the rear of the car. Mechanically, the GLC retains all the bits of the current model with no changes.

The prices are slightly higher than that of the regular GLC models and rightly so, due to the added equipment.

Mercedes-Benz says that the Celebration Edition will only be available in limited numbers. So, if you intend to wrap yourself in patriotic fervour along with Mercedes-Benz, your neighbourhood Merc dealership would be willing to help.
