Mercedes-Benz rolled out the locally manufactured GLC today in Chakan. Beginning the production of the C-Class based SUV in India, Mercedes-Benz has added an additional Style trim in the diesel variant portfolio and is priced at Rs 47.9 lakh, while the Edition 1 trims on both the diesel and petrol are now dubbed as Sport.
The Style trim based GLC 220d loses on several features though, such as the sunroof, leather seats, leather steering, leather dashboard, ambient light package, door trims, illuminated door sills, cargo bars behind the back seat, the 12V socket in the loading area, push start/stop function and Garmin navigation system, parking assist.
The Sport trim is available in both, diesel and petrol variants. There are no mechanical changes in both the variants, and they are still powered by 2.1-litre and 2-litre engines, respectively. The GLC 300 has an output of 241bhp and 370Nm while the GLC 220d churns out 168bhp and 400Nm torque and both the engines are mated to a 9-speed transmission.
The GLC 300 Sport is priced at Rs 51.9 lakh and the GLC 220d Sport has a price tag of Rs 51.5 lakh. You can read the review here.
