Maruti-Suzuki have launched the Baleno with an introductory price of 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol variant. Just like the S-Cross, the Baleno has four variants — Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. While the Sigma (petrol variant) is available under five lakhs, the top-of-the-line Alpha variant will cost 7.01 lakh. However, if you want the CVT variant, you will have to settle for a Baleno in Delta spec and it will cost you Rs. 6.76 lakh.

And if you want a Baleno with the DDiS 190 diesel engine, the base Sigma variant will set you back by 6.16 lakh while the Alpha variant costs Rs. 8.11 lakh.

Bigger than the Swift, the Baleno will be locking horns with Hyundai’s successful i20 and the newly introduced Honda Jazz. The Baleno boasts of a whole host of safety features, including a airbags, EBS and ABS on all variants.

The Baleno will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa showrooms and is the second car on offer here after the S-Cross. India is the first country that the Baleno has been introduced in and is the global manufacturing hub for this car.
