Baleno returns to India on 26th October

The name Baleno is a legend in the Indian motoring circuit. Its return has been highly anticipated. At the Frankfurt Motor Show Maruti Suzuki reviled its premium hatchback Baleno. The car will be position in the Indian market besides the HyundaiElite i20 and other premium hatchbacks.

With a glance it can be identified as a product from the Maruti Suzuki’s cradle. Step inside and the story isn’t much different either with the same cabin feel Indian customers might feel at home.

The new Baleno is both longer and wider than its core competitors in India but it is lowest in height with the car measuring 3,995mm length, 1,745mm width and 1,470mm in height.

The interiors carry the all black theme and are somewhat like the S-Cross. The 7″ infotainment screen in the centre gives a nice appeal. The rear seats can even fold down in a 60:40 ratio for added flexibility. The boot capacity is 355 litres.

Powering the car is the 1.2L Dualjet motor producing 89 BHP/121 Nm and an all-new 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged unit producing 110 BHP/169 Nm. The engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be manufactured at Maruti’s Manesar plant.
