Ladies and gentlemen, the fastest Urus is here! Lamborghini has launched the Urus SE, the most powerful, plug-in hybrid version of the high performance SUV, at an eye-watering price of ₹4.57 crore (ex-showroom). Globally unveiled a few months ago, the Urus SE gets a nip-and-tuck, more features and more power than an Aventador SVJ. Here's everything you need to know about it.

Lamborghini Urus SE design and interior

At the front, the Urus SE boasts a revised front bumper, grille, bonnet and slimmer matrix LED headlights. In profile, the SUV rides on 21-inch wheels (can be had with 22- or 23-inch alloys, if that tickles your fancy). At the rear it gets similar, slimmer tail lights, a new wrap-around grille, a more aggressive diffuser and a new lip spoiler which generates 35 per cent more downforce than the standard model. It also features new under body vents and revamped air ducts which offer a 15 per cent more airflow to the engine. The Urus SE gets 100 exterior and 47 interior trim options.

While its overall design remains unchanged on the inside, the SE gains a bigger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Its dash features anodised aluminum trim and Y-shaped air vents. The driver's 12.3-inch cockpit gains a dedicated telemetry system with new graphics and displays. The SUV’s famed ‘tamburo’ drive mode selector switch gains four extra settings. The SE gets ‘EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance and Range’ modes in addition to the six drive modes (Strada, Sport, Corsa, Sabbia, Neve, Terra) over the standard Urus.

Lamborghini Urus SE engine and performance

Powering the Urus SE is a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with hybrid assistance. The mill, on its own, churns out 612bhp and works with an electric motor generating 189bhp, that's integrated in the SE’s eight-speed automatic gearbox. This powertrain is derived from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid and it can propel the Urus SE from 0-100kmph in just 3.4 seconds and has a top whack of 312kmph. That's phenomenal considering this vehicle weighs over 2.5 tonnes. The plug-in hybrid system, once fully charged, promises a 60km range. The SE gets adaptive air suspension, electronic anti-roll and an active limited slip differential for improved handling.
