The Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini have launched the Huracan Spyder at Rs 3.89 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) earlier today. Lamborghini has inaugurated the new dealership in Mumbai on the occasion as well.
As the name suggests, the Huracan Spyder will get a convertible canvas soft-top, which is available in three different colours – black, brown and red. The soft top can open and shut in 17 seconds flat and can be operated on the go at speeds up to 50kmph.
The Spyder is powered by the same naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine making 610bhp and and 560Nm of torque as in the standard Huracan 610-4. It can clock the 0-100kmph sprint in 3.4 seconds racing away to a top speed of 324kmph. The new electronically controlled all-wheel drive set-up enhances its driving manners in three different modes, Strada, Sport and Corsa. This car also comes with all the new features seen on the new 2016 Huracan, including a stop/ start function and a cylinder on demand feature. But this wind-in-your-hair drop-top burns a slightly larger hole in your pocket than it’s standard variant, Rs 45 lakh to be exact.
Convertibles tend to compromise a bit on stiffness, however, the Huracan’s chassis with its aluminium components and carbon-fibre in the occupants cell have managed to keep it lightweight but make it 40% stiffer than its predecessor, the Gallardo Spyder.
