Hyundai Creta petrol gets a auto ’box

Hyundai has introduced a automatic variant in the Creta petrol and its priced at Rs 12.86 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.This is the first petrol automatic SUV in the segment with its closest rival being the sub-4 metre EcoSport and C-segment sedans.

This new variant is equipped with a touchscreen audio-video navigation system, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, rear parking camera and sensors, push button start/stop, Chrome door handles, child seat anchor, 17” diamond cut alloys, a leather wrap on steering wheel and climate control control. It just doesn’t get six airbags of the top variant (two in this one) and leather seats.

Hyundai has received over one lakh bookings for the Creta in the first eight months of its launch and its the highest selling SUV in its segment. It’s got strong engines, well-tuned suspension, the longest list of features among its competitors and now adds a automatic to the variants list. The automatic gearbox is the six-speed unit shared with the Elantra.

Hyundai’s mass appeal is growing in the past few years with its market penetration into smaller towns and cities across the country. At present, the company has a network of 448 dealerships and 1150 service points in India.
