Teasing and peppering all the way, Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India finally announce that bookings have finally commenced for their on/off-road motorcycle – the CRF1000L Africa Twin. The bike was first showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo and just a few months back the company had confirmed that they would only be getting their patented DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) variant and not the manual one.

The origins of the name come from the success Honda has had over the years at the fearsome Dakar event. The Africa Twin’s DCT helps the rider in selecting manual as well as automatic gear shifting in accordance to the terrain with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) aiding the riding pleasure.

The 998cc parallel-twin motor powers the Africa Twin as it makes 87bhp and 92Nm of torque. The long stroke front fork and high ground clearance make it an apt companion for muddy times. Even the fairing is designed keeping their Dakar heritage in vision.

Honda have managed to attractively price the bike at Rs. 12.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
