With the new BS IV emission norms set to take effect from April 1, 2017, the Honda CB Shine becomes the third motorcycle in the HMSI portfolio, after the CB Hornet 160R and the CB Unicorn 160, to comply with the new norms. The updated CB Shine has been launched at Rs 60,914, ex-showroom in Delhi, for the first of the three variants. The DLX variant with a front disc is priced at Rs 63,413 while the top-of-the-line CBS variant with a disc and Honda’s combi-brakes carries a sticker of Rs 65,414, ex-Delhi.
Along with the emission updates, the new CB Shine also gets enhanced graphics, chrome finish on the muffler and a carburetor cover. The bike also gets auto headlamp on wherein the headlamp can no longer be switched off, in line with the new safety norms that will kick in alongside the new emission norms. There are six new colour options to choose from as well. The CB Shine’s 10.16 bhp and 10.3 Nm peak output continues to come from the 124.73 cc air-cooled single, which is mated to a five-speed transmission.
Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI said, “India is not only the fastest growing economy in the world, but also one of the most important and fastest growing markets for Honda globally. With this vision for growth, today we have achieved a new milestone for our business in India. We thank our valued customers, business partners, and all our colleagues at Honda for this remarkable feat. Continuing our endeavour to serve our customers, we have introduced new BS IV 2017 CB Shine with AHO.”
The launch of the new BS IV compliant CB Shine also marked a significant milestone for HMSI. The company has sold 50 lakh units of the bike, which is manufactured at the company’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan.
